Rick Tennant Obituary

RICK L. TENNANT, 73, of Follansbee, WV, passed Wednesday April 17, 2024 at Valley Hospice, Steubenville, OH.

He was born September 11, 1950 in Weirton, WV, son of the late William Harley Tennant and Betsy Smith Tennant. Additionally, Rick is preceded in death by a brother and 2 sisters.

He was an Air Force Veteran who served in Thailand, 1972-1973. After being honorably discharged from military service, Rick worked at Weirton Steel Corporation until retirement in 2012. He was a proud member of VFW Post No. 2716 where he also served as Quartermaster. Rick had a passion for genealogy research along with playing guitar, singing, reading, and hiking.

Rick is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Carole Lesky Tennant; daughters, Jennifer Green (Mark) and Jessica Tennant; grandchildren, Ava Green and Benjamin Ott; and brother, Gary Tennant.

A private memorial will take place on Friday, April 26 with military honors rendered by US Air Force and American Legion Post No. 10 Honor Guards. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Weirton, WV. Inurnment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton, WV.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests all memorial contributions be made in Rick’s memory to VFW Post No. 2716, 3435 Main Street, Weirton, WV.
