Alfred J. Wudarski,92,of Weirton, passed away Thursday,July 13,2017 at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville,OH.He was born in Weirton on April 14,1925,a son to the late Stella Fronsciewcz and the late Joseph Wudarski,Sr. On August 20,1949, Alfred was joined in marriage to Helen T. Krishak.
Alfred was a veteran of the United States Navy.He served during World War II and won battle ribbons during the Battle of Leyte Gulf which is recognized as the largest sea battle in Naval history.He was retired from Weirton Steel Corporation as an Operator in the CA Line.He was a member of the Sacred Heart of Mary Church of Weirton, the VFW and American Legion in Weirton, the Polish National Alliance of North America, as well as AARP 3862 and the 25 Year Club of Weirton Steel Corporation.
Surviving are his wife,Helen T. Krishak Wudarski;daughter Gloria J. Waters;son Alfred F. Wudarski;sister Wanda Francis;grandchildren Aimee,Rebecca,and Alex Wudarski and great granddaughter Ella Miller Wudarski.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 16 at the STEEL & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES,Inc.,380 Penco Road,Weirton,WV.,26062 from 5-8pm. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 12:00pm Monday, July 17 at the Sacred Heart of Mary Church,200 Preston Avenue,Weirton,WV.,26062.Father Tony Thurston will officiate and entombment will follow at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery,Weirton.
Donations may be made in honor of Alfred to either the Alzheimer's Association 1601 2nd Avenue Charleston,WV 25387 or to Sacred Heart of Mary Church 200 Preston Avenue,Weirton,WV.,26062.
