Steve Mindzak Obituary
STEVE MINDZAK, 90 of Weirton, WV passed away Tuesday October 25, 2016 at Weirton Medical Center. He was born September 26, 1926 in Ubrez, Czechoslovakia. The son of the late John and Julia Drutar Mindzak. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Mike, John, and George Mindzak.
Steve was the longtime owner of Friendly Dry Cleaners. He was a Sabbath Keeper; member of Kiwanis; former Boy Scout leader; member of the Dry Cleaners Association of West Virginia; former instructor in School of Dry Cleaning in Washington, DC. Steve came to the United States in 1948, after working in various dry cleaners and tailoring shops, he began his business in 1954. He has been in business for 62 years becoming very successful. He enjoyed serving people.
Surviving are his wife, Helena Mandzakievicova Mindzak; daughters Colleen Mindzak of Weirton, WV and Sylvia Thomas of Jacksonville, FL; son Stephen Mindzak of Columbus, OH.
Visitation will be Friday October 28, 2016 11:00 a.m. until time of the funeral at 1:00 p.m. at STEEL & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV. Reverend Marvin Taylor will preside. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested in Steve's name to the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1314 Bantam Ridge Road, Wintersville, OH 43953.
