ALTHEA JANE BOLEY, 74, of Weirton, WV, passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2025. She was born April 16, 1951 in Akron, OH, daughter of the late Nelson Riter and the late Edna Cooper Beaver. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, James Robert “Louie” Boley (1990), who she loved for 59 years; infant son, Jamie Lee Boley; brother and best friend, John “Johnny” David Riter; stepfather, Eugene Beaver, and beloved cat, Mickey.
Althea was a former member of Salvation Army of Weirton and was a Department Manager at Weirton Kmart for many years. She loved to cook for her friends and family. She enjoyed playing games on her phone. She loved many genres of music and going to concerts with her daughter, especially her favorite band, Shinedown. Althea was a hard worker and loved spending time with her great granddaughter.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Amy Lynn Vasconcellos (Gary); she was Nana to James “Jamie” Robert Vasconcellos and Grandma to Michael “Mikey” Anthony Vasconcellos; she was also Nana to her grandson's friends, Matt Harda, Ryan Vega, and Ricky Coen; she was proudly known as Old Grandma to her great granddaughter, Kaylin Vasconcellos; brother, William Riter; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; good friend neighbor, Lenny McAbee; and best friend of 65 years, Robin Virtue.
Visitation will take place Tuesday, September 2, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm, at Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, 3721 Main Street, Weirton, where the service will take place Wednesday at 11am, with Pastor James Rhodes presiding. Interment will follow at Paris Cemetery, Paris, PA, next to her beloved Louie.
