Angela Marie Taverne

ANGELA MARIE TAVERNE, 94, of Weirton, WV, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 26, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 2, 1931 in Canonsburg, PA, daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Cerenzia Fragapane. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Arthur Dante Taverne, 4 brothers, and 1 sister. 

Angela was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Angela embraced her role as a homemaker with grace as she dedicated her life to her family. She created a warm and welcoming home filled with love and family photographs. Angela cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren as well as her grand dogs.

Angela enjoyed cooking, car rides, watching her flowers bloom, being in a card club for over 50 years, of which she was the last surviving member, playing bingo, rooting for the Steelers alongside her family, and a good conversation. Angela had an infectious smile and laugh, which will live on forever. 

Angela is survived by her daughters, Lisa Rodriguez (John), Denise Pinar (Rick) and Angela Van Kirk (David); son, Arthur T. Taverne (Fran); beloved grandchildren, Daniel, Cory, Nick, Jordan, Gabriella, Mario and Antonio; and great granddaughters, Aubrie and Maeve.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place Tuesday, July 29, at 10am at St. Joseph the Worker Church, 229 California Ave., Weirton, with Rev. Fr. Dennis R. Schuelkens, Jr. presiding. Interment will follow next to her beloved Arthur at National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA. Arrangements have been entrusted to Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, Weirton.
