Bartlett Jay “B.J.” Wharton, Jr.

BARTLETT JAY “B.J.” WHARTON, JR., 69, of Weirton, WV, passed Monday, March 3, 2025 at home. He was born January 18, 1956 in Weirton, son of the late Bartlett Jay Wharton, Sr. and Wilma Sams Wharton. He is also preceded in death by sisters, Denise Decker and Linda Waide.

Bartlett, often known as B.J. or Bart, was a truck driver for Starvaggi Industries and more recently Rawson Trucking. He enjoyed watching Nascar racing and hunting.

B.J. is survived by sisters, Rebecca Pope (Frank), Cathy Krnaich, Susan Ireland (Dennis), and Karen Wersch; brother, Robert Wharton (Michelle); daughters, Dawn Marie Homan (Randal) and Cayla Wharton; step-daughter and caregiver, Heather Cooper; and 3 grandchildren including Eli.

Per B.J.’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Weirton, WV.
