BETTY LOU VIRTUE, 96, of Weirton, WV, passed Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at home. She was born June 6, 1928 in Hollidays Cove, daughter of the late William R. Moulds and Cora Mae Freshwater Moulds. Betty is also preceded in death by her husband, William R. “Bill” Virtue (1993).
Betty was very active in Cove Presbyterian Church in her younger years and Memorial Baptist Church more recently. She was a member of Three Score Seniors, Order of the Eastern Star, Junior AREME, and Myrtle McHenry Sunday School Class of Cove U.P. Church. Betty was involved in many card clubs and loved shopping and lunch dates with her friends. She treasured time spent with her family, friends, kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. She was a Christian woman who always cared for others and was generous with her time in helping others.
Betty is survived by her sons, Jack Virtue (Glenda) of Weirton, and James Virtue (Paula) of Tulsa, OK; granddaughter, Marcie Dean (late Delmar) and their kids, Kylie and Ila; granddaughter, Ashley Virtue; granddaughter, Laura Virtue Webber (Thomas) and their kids, Cameron, Madeline, Coraline, and Elsie; and granddaughter, Jenna Virtue Rademaker (Nathan) and their kids, Avery and Isabelle; and brother, John Moulds (Priscilla) of the Villages, FL.
Visitation will take place Friday, November 15, from 4:00 to 7:00pm, at Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, 380 Penco Road, Weirton, where the funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:30am with Rev. Bill Stout presiding. Interment will follow at Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Florence, PA.
