C. WAYNE WILLIAMS, 93, of Weirton, West Virginia, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at WVU Medicine, Weirton Medical Center. Born on August 25, 1932, in Mannington, West Virginia, he was the son of the late George H. Williams and Loretta F. Moore Williams.
In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eleanor Lucille Snodgrass Williams, in 2013; and his brothers, Eddie L. Williams in 2015 and Thomas Williams in 2025.
Wayne was a proud graduate of Mannington High School, Class of 1950. He later made his home in Weirton, where he dedicated many years of service to Weirton Steel Corporation, retiring as a crane repairman. A man of strong faith, Wayne was an active member of Cove Presbyterian Church. He also served his community with distinction as a member of the Weirton Volunteer Fire Department, Cove Company No. 2, including ten years as Chief. Additionally, he was a member of Cove Valley Lodge No. 380, I.O.O.F., and the Weirton Steel 25 Year Club.
He is lovingly remembered by his children, Greg Williams (Debbie) and Vicky Williams; his grandchildren, Stephanie Hilt (Ben), Daniel Williams, and Joshua Williams (Ashlyn); and his great-grandchildren, Hayden Hilt, Riley Williams, Ethan Williams, and Wyatt Williams.
Private visitation and services will be held at Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home in Weirton, with Elder Roger Criss officiating. Wayne will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Eleanor, at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
