CHARLES “CHUCK” E. CUMBLIDGE, 83, of Florence, PA, passed Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at Weirton Medical Center. He was born November 23, 1941 in Steubenville, OH, son of the late Mancil and Alice Brammer Cumblidge. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Lewis and Ivan Cumblidge; and sisters, Jeannette Baxter and Margaret “Gerry” Starkey.
Chuck was a US Navy Veteran, active duty from 1958 to 1962 during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Paris Presbyterian Church, American Legion Post No. 10, including the Post No. 10 Honor Guard, VFW Post No. 2716, Richard Vaux Lodge No. 454 F. & A.M., Osiris Shriners, and a social member of Hanover VFD. He retired from Weirton Steel, Strip Steel Dept.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Karen Yoho Cumblidge; daughter, Teresa “Terri” Golonka (David) of Burgettstown, PA; son, Jeffrey C. Cumblidge (Cami) of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren, Bryon Dean (Charlene), Carter Dean, Kelsey Cumblidge, and Taylor Cumblidge; great-grandson, Alden Dean; sisters, Norma Jean Burdette and Joyce Epsilantis; and forever best friend, John Sinnett.
Visitation will take place Sunday, January 5, from 1-3pm and 6-8pm, at Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV, with additional visitation Monday from 10am until time of service at 11am, with Pastor Nadia Stropich presiding. Interment and military honors will take place at a later date at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA.
