David Alan Shaw

DAVID ALAN SHAW, 65, of Weirton, WV, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday October 5, 2023 at home. He was born April 19, 1958 in Steubenville, OH, son of the late Archie Ray Shaw and Anna Jane Rhoades Boyd.

David attended Brooke High School where he met Patty Phillips. The two began dating and grew their life together for 50 years. He graduated in 1977 and got married the same year. David grew up in the Episcopal Church in Follansbee. He was an avid gun collector and loved shooting with his son-in-law and grandsons. During their 40 years in Follansbee, David was a volunteer fire fighter and worked for Follansbee Steel for 22 years. He later went on to work for First Fleet and Oasis Trucking as a supervisor.

David is survived by his wife of 46 years, Patricia “Patty” Phillips Shaw; daughter, Jennifer Shaw Brueck and her husband Jim Brueck, who David would call his best friend; David was very proud of his two beloved grandsons, Jordan and Justin Brueck; and loved spoiling his four-legged granddog, Sophie. He is also survived by brother, Archie "Butch" Shaw.

Per David’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
