DOLORES E. "NANO" WOLFE, 93 of Weirton, WV passed away Sunday May 1, 2016 at Grace Garden Cottage, Weirton, WV. She was born October 26, 1922 in Wheeling, WV. She was the daughter of the late Edward A Fischer, Jr. and Bertha K. Deagel Fischer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold Edward Wolfe (1-30-2003).
Nano was a member of the First United Methodist Church and attended the First Christian Church, both of Weirton, WV. She was a member of Weirton Chapter No.147 O.E.S., Social Club 147, Star of the Valley Rebekah Lodge No.73 having served as past noble grand, Three Score Seniors. She was a 1940 graduate of Wheeling High School. Prior to her marriage she worked alongside her parents in the family grocery business, Edward L. Fischer & Son Grocer & Butcher Store, South Wheeling, and also at a vendor's stall that they operated at the Centre Market in Wheeling, WV. She was an active co-owner for over 50 years of Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, Inc. alongside her late husband. She was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother who attended all activities that her grandchildren were involved in during her lifetime.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Hannah and Douglas Finton of Weirton, WV; grandchildren, Morgan Edward Finton and his wife Diva Catalina Finton of Arlington, VA; Meghan Elizabeth Finton of Weirton, WV; faithful canine companion, Gracie MacIntosh Finton; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday May 4, 2016 1-3 & 6-8 p.m. at STEEL & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 3721 Main Street, Weirton, WV where the funeral will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Kevin L. Bowers presiding. Entombment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling, WV.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial contributions to Starvaggi Memorial Park Civic Association, Inc., c/o 144 Parkview Drive, Weirton, WV 26062 OR WV Wesleyan College Title III Endowment Fund, 59 College Avenue-Advancement Office, Buckhannon, WV 26201.
