Doris B. Ficca

DORIS B. FICCA, 91 of Weirton, WV passed away Sunday July 10, 2016 at Woodland Hills, Weirton, WV. She was born July 24, 1924 in Follansbee, WV. She was the daughter of the late Clarence A. and Florence Marsh Barnett. Doris was also preceded in death by her husband of nearly 65 years, Albert A. Ficca(2014); sisters, Virginia B. Burgess, Mary B. Gracey; brothers, Paul B., Robert M., Harold L., George R., Clarence L., Hugh T. Barnett.

She was a faithful member of the First Christian Church, AARP No.3846, Three Score Seniors, DAR, Fort Steuben Chapter, Greater Weirton Senior Center, Hancock County Association of Retired School Employees. Doris retired from the Hancock Board of Education as a secretary at the former Broadview Elementary School.

Surviving are her daughter, Susan F. Brown; son, Daniel Lee Ficca(Robin); sister, Jean B. Verner; all of Weirton, WV; grandchildren, Scott Ficca(Mindi), Tiffany Dugan(Michael), Amy Ficca; great grandchildren, Mia, Paige, and Emma. Canine companions, Lucy and Sally Jane.

Visitation will be Wednesday July 13, 2016 4:00-8:00 p.m. at STEEL & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV. The funeral & committal services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Kevin L. Bowers presiding. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee, WV.
