Dorothy L. “Butchie” Barrett

DOROTHY L. “BUTCHIE” BARRETT, 80, of Colliers, WV passed Monday September 25, 2023 at Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville. She was born December 10 ,1942 in Steubenville, daughter of the late Charles and Virginia Summers Yacos. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband, Danny Edward Barrett (February 2006).

Butchie was a strong, faith-built woman who won many souls to Christ and praised Him at New Life Church in Weirton. She loved cooking, watching the snow fall, and spending time with family and friends. She never missed coffee every Saturday with her daughter, shopping with her “Golden Girlfriends” or a trip to Sugarcreek, OH. Butchie was a hugger and would greet everyone with a smile and a hug. She was blessed to live on the same road as her kids and grandkids in Colliers. She was Aunt Butchie to many, including her nieces, Amy, Michele and Monica.

Butchie is survived by her daughter, Robin Nixon (Bryan); sons, Rickey Barrett (Sheila) and Randy Barrett; grandchildren, Danielle Shisler (Travis) and Jayden Nixon; sister, Linda Brula (Dave) and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place Friday September 29, 2023 from 10:00 AM until time of funeral service at 12:00 PM at Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, 3721 MAIN ST., Weirton, with Pastor Zachary Adams and Pastor Dave Parker presiding. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery-Haven of Rest, Colliers, WV.
