Earl Ray Cowan

EARL RAY COWAN, 84 of Weirton, WV passed away and went to be with his beloved wife, Deloris "Perky", Wednesday October 12, 2016 at Weirton Medical Center. He was born September 22, 1932 in Weirton, WV. The son of the late Wade Howard Cowan and Hettie Maybelle Hooper Cowan. Along with his wife of 53 years, Deloris Jane "Perky" Skiles Cowan (12-27-2003), he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Moser.

He was an avid photographer, walker, and cyclist(having logged over 13k miles in a single year). He loved his family, music, and retirement. Earl retired in 1990 with 40 years of service in the pickler dept. of Weirton Steel Corp.

Surviving are his daughters, Margaret Skidmore (Dana), Cathy Cowan (Sue), Mary Wilson (Rob); sons, Roger Cowan (Pattie), Raymond Cowan (Karen); eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday October 14, 2016 2-4 6-8 at STEEL & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV where the funeral/committal services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Dr. Christina Hosler presiding. Interment will follow at Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Florence, PA.
