EDNA S. STROUD, 95, of Paris, PA, passed Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at transitions Healthcare in Washington, PA. She was born December 3, 1928 in Weirton, daughter of the late Lawrence and Edna Simolonski Yarosz. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Donald M. Stroud, Sr. (1993); sons, Donald “Max” Stroud, Jr., Larry Stroud, Teddy A. Stroud, and Eric Stroud; grandchildren, Teddy Stroud and Matthew Stroud; and siblings, Violet Mark, Dolores Yarosz, Sophie Zablackas, Helen Ighnat, Ann Hengeveld, Millie DeGenero, Raymond Yarosz, Carl Yarosz and Lawrence Yarosz, Jr.
Edna was Catholic by faith. After her husband had passed, Edna worked in the deli of Shop N Save in Imperial for 28 years, until she was 92 years old. Edna enjoyed playing the slot machines and watching golf. She loved her many cats, which would often get dropped off and left for her to rescue. Above all else, Edna loved her family, who will truly miss her.
Edna is survived by children, Richard Stroud (Cheryl), Patty Milocich (John), Debbie McClaskey, and Samuel Stroud; 19 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; and daughters-in-law, Patricia Stroud and Glenda Stroud.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, October 2, from 4:00 to 8:00pm at Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, 380 Penco Road, Weirton, where the funeral service will be held Thursday at 10:00am with Rev. Fr. Dennis R. Schuelkens, Jr. presiding. Interment will follow at Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Florence, PA.
