EDWIN “ED” L. SAVER, JR., 67, of Weirton, WV, passed peacefully Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at home after battling numerous illnesses over the last 2 years. He was born October 31, 1957 in Weirton, son of the late Edwin “Pete” Saver and Jimmie T. Strickland Saver. Ed is also preceded in death by his brother, Robert Saver.
Ed was a graduate of Burgettstown High School, Class of 1976. Ed was known to many as "Brother" and was the first to offer help to anyone. He worked for many decades at Weirton Steel Corporation, currently Cleveland Cliffs. Ed was a Christian man and member of Mercy Baptist Church. He was an avid Penguins fan and often attended games. Ed was a former Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 65, often enjoying camping and all scouting activities.
Ed is survived by his daughter, Ashley Saver of Florida; son, Adam Saver of Weirton; ex-wife and good friend, Paula Saver; and sister-in-law, Mary Saver; nephew, Corey Saver; and aunt, Marion Racz.
Visitation will take place Monday, January 13, from 1-3pm and 5-7pm, with the funeral service at 7pm, at Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, 380 Penco Road, Weirton, with Pastor Marlin Hawley presiding.
