Franklin R.Zirkle Sr.

FRANKLIN R. ZIRKLE SR., 89 of Paris, PA passed away Tuesday May 31, 2016 at home. He was born June 28, 1926 in New Haven, WV. He was the son of the late Frank and Daisy Cundiff Zirkle.

Franklin was a member of the Paris Presbyterian Church, a US Marine Corp veteran of WW II, Tri-State Marine Corps Club, Paris Sportsmen Club, American Legion Post No. 10. He retired with 37.5 years of service as a mechanic in the diesel shop of Weirton Steel Corp.

Surviving are his wife of nearly 64 years, Ruth Board Zirkle; daughter, Gwenlyn Miller (Paul Sr.) of Weirton, WV; son, Franklin R. Zirkle Jr. of Weirton, WV; grandchildren, Karin Bardakos (Christopher), Paul Miller Jr. (Jamie), Amanda Zirkle, Jennifer Seevers (Mike); seven great grandchildren.

Private family visitation and services will be held at STEEL & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., Weirton, WV with Reverend Dr. Christina Hosler presiding. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Military funeral honors will be rendered by WV Honor Guard and American Legion Post No. Honor Guard.
