George Livingston Obituary

GEORGE EDWARD LIVINGSTON, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, of Weirton, WV passed away Saturday July 23, 2016 in Rochester, MN, at the age of 81. He was born December 16, 1934 in Moundsville, WV. The son of the late Curtis Edward Livingston and Mary Magdalene McCoy Livingston.

George was a member of the First Christian Church; a US Army Veteran, having served with the National Security Agency while stationed in Japan; American Legion Post No.10; Weirton Moose Lodge No.688; Hancock County Sportsman Club; National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR); founding member and past president of the Ebenezer Zane Chapter of the SAR, Ohio Society; George Washington Chapter of the SAR, Pennsylvania Society; Jefferson County Genealogical Society; active participant with Wreaths Across America; responsible for procurement of the American Revolutionary War monument in the Weirton Veterans park George was an avid gardener, providing his neighbors with lots of produce over the years. He was proud to be a veteran and enjoyed the history of the revolutionary war. George worked as a Department Manager at Continental/USCan and Production Manager at Heekin/Ball Corp.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Beverly Jo Rigot Livingston; daughters, Lori Diane Livingston of Hagerstown, MD, Desiree Lanzino (Dr. Giuseppe Lanzino) of Rochester, MN; son, Matthew Allen Livingston (Angela) of Pataskala, OH; sister, Marilyn Izzi (Joe) of Wintersville, OH; grandchildren, Tommy and Taylor, Roberta, Franco, and Maria, Victoria.

Visitation will be Thursday July 28, 2016 2-4 & 6-8 at the STEEL & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV. Additional visitation will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the funeral at 11:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church, 3252 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Reverend Kevin L. Bowers will preside. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Graveside services by the Sons of the American Revolutionary War and military funeral honors will be rendered.
