GEORGE A. “BUTCH” VIAKLEY, 85, of Weirton, WV, passed Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Select Specialty Hospital, Weirton. He was born May 20, 1940 in Steubenville, OH, son of the late George Vujaklya and Helen Markowicz Socha. He is also preceded in death by his grandson, Justin Johnson.
Butch retired from Weirton Steel Corporation as a Welder. He was a US Navy Veteran. He was a Pittsburgh Penguins and Steelers fan.
Butch is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Karen Williams Viakley; children, Terry Viakley (Tina), Valerie Campbell (Jeff), and Leslie Johnson, all of Weirton; grandchildren, Isaac LaBeau, Makenzie LaBeau, Mitchell Viakley (Mackenzie), Allison Viakley, and Katherine Perry (Chris); great grandchildren, Natalie Reittenbach and Malcolm Perry; brothers, Pete Vujaklya (Brenda), Mike Vujaklya, Bobby Vujaklya, and Milan Viakley (Michelle); and sisters, Kathy Ellis (Alex), Donna Francis (Paul), and Francie Viakley.
Per Butch’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Weirton. Inurnment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton.
