Helen Dorothy Swearingen Markle

Helen Dorothy Swearingen Markle,92,of New Cumberland,WV.,passed away Saturday,April 15,2017 at Life Line Hospital in Wintersville,OH.She was born on September 19,1924 on the Swearingen Hill farm.On March 7,1941 Helen was joined in marriage to Walter Kenneth Markle.

She was a member of the Hancock County Extension Home Maker Club and a member of the Oakland Presbyterian Church.She was an avid baseball fan and a truly loving mother and grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her parents Nancy Evaline Graham and Thomas A. Swearingen;her husband Walter Kenneth Markle; her brother William Swearingen and her sisters Eula Hamilton,Evelyn Sherman,Mabel Reed,infant sister Margaret Swearingen,and her infant grandchild Brian Barkhurst.

Helen is survived by her son Kenneth Allen (Helen) Markle;daughters JoAnne (Albert) Barkhurst,Linda (Richard) Strosky,and Dottie (Bob) Reardon;Grandchildren Lisa Renner,Tammy Smedley,Tim Markle,Todd Markle,Kristine Spurlock,Brad Barkhurst,Nancy Watkins,Jeffrey Douglass,Scott Douglass,Amy Lyons and Michelle Reardon;nephew John Mark Hamilton;nieces Rose Marie Hamilton and Nancy Clark.She is also survived by ten great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 19,2017 at the STEEL AND WOLFE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES,Inc.,380 Penco Road, Weirton from 3-8 p.m. with funeral services held at the funeral home on Thursday, April 20 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Randolph Krebs will officiate. Burial following at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens,Weirton,WV.
