HERBERT K. GRUBBS, 81, of Burgettstown, PA, passed unexpectedly on Friday, June 13, 2025. He was born August 12, 1943 in Eldersville, PA, son of the late Herbert Oliver Grubbs and Goldie Mae Moss Grubbs. He is also preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Joy C. Peebles Grubbs (2023); and brother, Sid D. Grubbs.
Herbert is a US Army Signal Corps Veteran. He owned and operated Grubbs Auto Wrecking in Hanover Twp. He was also Supervisor of Hanover Twp. for many years. Herbert was a member of Richard Vaux Lodge No. 454 F. & A.M. and Fort Steuben Street Rod Club, where he loved to show off his antique cars.
He is survived by his loving children, Brian Kenneth Grubbs, Lisa Nelson (Mike), and Cristine Marie Hall; grandchildren, Brandon Farner (Leslie), Brittany Tedrow (Paul), Kayla Locher (Devon), and Madison Banaszak; great grandchildren, Bristol Farner, Julianna Tedrow and Paisley Tedrow; sister, Eva Marlene Simpson, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, June 18 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm, at Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, 380 Penco Road, Weirton, where the service will take place Thursday at 11am, with Pastor Kevin Rhodes presiding. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery, Burgettstown, where military honors will be rendered by US Army and American Legion Post No. 10 Honor Guards.
