Hilman W. Brown

HILMAN W. BROWN, 92 of Myrtle Beach, SC formerly of Weirton, WV passed away Saturday August 5, 2017 at Brightwater Assisted Living, Myrtle Beach, SC. He was born December 15, 1924 in Weirton, WV. He was the son of the late William Lee Brown and Taina Marie Olkonen Brown. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Dollie Barkhurst Brown (2010).

Hilman was a member of the Weirton Heights Memorial Baptist Church; a Merchant Marine veteran of World War II; Weirton Lodge No. 171 A.F. a loyal member of Osiris Shriners. He retired as an iron worker from National Steel Corp./Weirton Division.

Surviving are his daughter, Candace Modesti of Folsom, PA; sons, Mark Brown (Vicki) and William "Bill" Brown (Susan) all of Myrtle Beach, SC; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.

Visitation will be at STEEL & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV on Thursday August 10, 2017 from 10:00 a.m.until time of the funeral at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Holley Faulkner presiding. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
