Iris Conley Obituary
IRIS LORRAINE CONLEY, 92 of Weirton, WV passed away Sunday May 29, 2016 at Grace Cottage (Serra Manor), Weirton, WV. Born June 4, 1923 in Weirton, WV, she was the daughter of the late Stephen L. and Roma Alice Davis Hurd. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Minta Tarr Kenniburg, Mary Hurd, Nellie Shreve, Nancy McMasters, Viola McPeek, Virginia Conrad, Woodrow Hurd, and Roy Hurd. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 53 wonderful years of marriage, Chester Conley, on October 9, 1998.
Iris was a faithful member of the Weirton First Church of the Nazarene, the Fellowship Sunday School Class and JOY group. While she worked in the Tin Mill at Weirton Steel during World War II and many years later at G.C. Murphy Company as a floor manager, her life occupation was truly a "home-maker".
Surviving are her daughters, Mona Lee (Robert) Leach of Weirton, WV and Dana Kay (Roy) Heaps of Roanoke, VA; grandchildren, Lori Jo (Andy) Grega, Keri (Spencer) Hochstetler, Rob (Jenny Goelz) Leach, Mandie (Joel) Benge, Jonathan (JoAnna) Heaps; great grandchildren, Morgan (Kevin) D'Angelo, Kevin and Sarah Grega, Levi and Ava Hochstetler, Liam Benge, quadruplets, Carter, Wyatt, Jackson and Olivia Heaps, and Chris and A.J. Blankenship.
Visitation will be Friday June 3, 2016 5-8 p.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene, 475 Colliers Way, Weirton, WV. Additional visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 until time of the celebration of praise and funeral/committal services at 11:00 a.m. at the church, where the church Pastors will preside. Interment will be in Paris Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Camille Castaldo & and Rhonda Quatrocchi and staffs, as well as her special caretakers at Grace Cottage.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Iris's memory to the Salvation Army/Weirton Corp., P.O. Box 2499, Weirton, WV 26062 or to the First Church of the Nazarene, 475 Colliers Way, Weirton, WV 26062.
