James E. Brown, Sr.

James E. Brown, Sr., 75, of Shippenville, PA, passed Sunday November 26, 2023 at UPMC Presbyterian. He was born January 14, 1948 in Cameron, WV, son of the late James Brown and Ida C. Ott Brown. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Faye R. Brown (2003); sister, Linda K. Peck; and brothers, Larry Brown and Robert Brown.

James was an avid hunter for over 60 years. He loved working with his hands. He retired from J & L Steel as a foreman.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Johns Brown; sons, Brian Brown (Vicki) of Ambridge, PA, James Brown, Jr. (Marcia) of Cranberry Twp., PA, and William Brown (Christina Walker) of Clarion, PA; daughter, Ida Catherine Brown of Shippenville, PA; step daughters, Mary Anne Hajzer (Mike) of Snowshoe, WV and Becky Anderson (Joe) of New Cumberland, WV; 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Per James’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Arrangements have been entrusted to Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, Weirton, WV.
