James S. Hawkins

JAMES S. HAWKINS, 94 of Paris, PA passed away Wednesday February 8, 2017 at Weirton Medical Center. He was born December 14, 1922 in Smithfield, WV. He was the son of the late John and Mayme Talkington Hawkins. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Avis Anderson, Ramona Elhammer, Gladys Quill, Eleanor Snodgrass; brother, John Hawkins.

James was a US Army veteran, 1st Army, 3rd armor division, WWII Battle of the Bulge; 25 year club of Weirton Steel. He retired as a heater helper in the coke plant of National Steel Corp./Weirton Division.

Surviving are his wife of nearly 69 years, Beverly Reith Hawkins; daughters, Pamela Lyng, Joyce Baxter, both of Oklahoma City, OK; son, Robert L. Hawkins (Linda) of Paris, PA; brother, William Joseph Hawkins of Florence, MS; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday February 12, 2017 at STEEL & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV where the funeral & committal services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m.

with Reverend Kevin L. Bowers presiding. Interment will be at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens.
