JOHN T. HODOR, 75, of Weirton, WV, passed Thursday, July 31, 2025 at home. He was born August 20, 1949 in Steubenville, OH, son of the late Joseph Walter Hodor and Rose M. Rybalt Hodor.
John was a graduate of Weir High School, before working at Weirton Steel Corporation. John was a US Army Veteran who was stationed in Iran and worked communications. After discharge from the Army, John returned to the mill and eventually retired from Cleveland Cliffs as a Roll Grinder in the Tin Mill after 52 years. John loved gardening, and was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, especially the Steelers. He also loved WVU football and basketball. John was an animal lover, especially cats and dogs.
John is survived by his loving wife, Valerie Martin Hodor; beloved son, Adam Cagle (Tjandra Santoso); twin brother, Joseph Robert Hodor (late Deborrah Hodor); sister, Joan McAlpine (Ken); and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place Tuesday, August 5, from 1:00 to 3:00pm, at Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, 380 Penco Road, Weirton. Military honors will follow rendered by US Army and American Legion Post No. 10 Honor Guards. A Celebration of Life will follow.
Memorial donations can be made to any humane society in memory of John.
