John Vujnovic Obituary
JOHN VUJNOVIC, 89 of Weirton, WV passed away Wednesday October 26, 2016 at the Weirton Geriatric Center, surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was born October 1, 1927 in Weirton, WV. The son of the late Mike and Sarah Parich Vujnovic. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Diane Harris; three sisters and one brother.
John was a member of Starkdale Presbyterian Church; a US Army, Korean War veteran; he was an avid golfer; enjoyed WVU football and basketball; one who enjoyed horse racing; a former City of Weirton Attorney; former US Commissioner. He was a self employed attorney, and he also owned a small coal company. John was the most generous man who loved his family deeply.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Betty Lou Allan Vujnovic; daughters, Donna Lynn Gradel (Richard) of Broken Arrow, OK, Lindy Snyder (Dave Gaston) of Follansbee, WV; sons, Brad Vujnovic (Teresa) of St. Clairsville, OH, Brian Vujnovic of Weirton, WV; son-in-law, Les Harris of Terra Alta, WV; grandchildren, Luke (Allison) and Emel (Jess) Vujnovic, Nicole and Dana Snyder; great grandchildren, Emel Ray and Vera Lou.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held Monday October 31, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Starkdale Presbyterian Church, 4600 Sunset Boulevard, Steubenville, OH 43953 with Reverend George Carlton Moore presiding.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the love and care that was shown to John and his family, from the staff of the Weirrton Geriatric Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested in John's name to Starkdale Presbyterian Church, 4600 Sunset Boulevard, Steubenville, OH 43953 OR Brooke County Animal Shelter, 797 Mac Barnes Drive, Beech Bottom, WV 26030.
