Kenneth John McAlpine

KENNETH “KEN” JOHN McALPINE, 90, of Weirton, WV, passed Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Valley Hospice, Steubenville, OH. He was born August 8, 1935 in Follansbee, WV, son of the late John and Elsie Beatles McAlpine. He is also preceded in death by his sisters, Ruth and Elaine; and stepdaughter, Michelle Moulds.

Ken was a graduate of Follansbee High School, Class of 1954. He worked as a Machinist at Weirton Steel Corporation before retiring. Ken was a member of Weirton Steel 25 Year Club; Osiris Shriners – 2003 Potentate, Northern Panhandle Shrine Club, Belmont Shrine Club, Arab Patrol – Captain, Director of Staff at Osiris Wheeling, Hillbilly Clan, Wheeling Scottish Rite, and Weirton Lodge No. 171 A.F. & A.M.

Ken is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Joan Hodor Moulds McAlpine; son, Richard McAlpine; daughter, Barbara Wilkie; grandchildren, Danielle, Joshua, Janice, and Ian; step granddaughter, Ashley; and 2 great grandchildren.

Visitation will take place Tuesday, July 28 from 11:00am until the funeral service at 12:00pm, at Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, 380 Penco Road, Weirton, with Rev. Dr. Nadia Stropich presiding. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery – Haven of Rest, Colliers.
