Leslie Andrews Obituary

LESLIE CRAIG ANDREWS, 77 of New Cumberland, WV entered heaven and joined his granddaughters, Paige and Kristin, on Monday October 17, 2016 at the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center, Bradenton, FL. He was born February 23, 1939 in Steubenville, OH to Leslie Gerald Andrews and Lorene Terrell Andrews. He was married August 6, 1960 to Judith McElwain Andrews and was blessed with two children, Brian Craig Andrews(Joan) and Denise Andrews Collett(Joel).

His children were his greatest joy in the world. He loved, admired, and respected them. Craig's grandchildren, Brent Andrew Beatty, Kristin Michelle Andrews, Lauren Lynn Beatty Davis (Josh), Kelsey Nichole Andrews, and Paige Beatty, were loved, cherished, and supported in all of their efforts. They gave him a wonderful vision for the future. Craig's brother Terry Andrews(deceased) and Brenda Swaim (Jack) and his sister-in-law Mary Jane Andrews maintained a close and supportive relationship throughout his life. That closeness extended to his nephews and nieces and their children too.

Craig was a carpenter, school teacher, area businessman, and especially a farmer. There was nothing he enjoyed more than keeping the farm beautiful by maintaining the 150 year old farm house. It was always a good day when he could spend a couple of hours cutting grass on his big tractor. Craig was elected to the Hancock County Board of Education, serving for six years. Five years as president of the board. He was proud of the boards efforts to build the Oak Glen Middle School and putting the county system on a sound financial foundation. Craig and Judi built a beautiful, loving relationship of 57 years. They worked hard together and shared each others goals and traveled the world together. They are immensely proud of their family and believe that in them they will leave a valuable legacy. Craig will be remembered as a good friend. He maintained many relationships over his lifetime and cherished them all, especially his Weir High class of 1957.

Visitation will be Sunday October 23, 2016 1:00-3:00 & 5:00 until time of the funeral at 7:00 p.m. at STEEL & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV with Pastor Mike Gestrich presiding.
