Lois M. Cox

LOIS M. COX, 93, of Weirton, WV, passed Wednesday July 3, 2024 at Wyngate Senior Living Community, Weirton. She was born April 23, 1931 in Chester, WV, daughter of the late Earl and Florence Flick Priest. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Ralph H. Cox (2021); and sisters, Esther Priest, Susan Cox, and Jean Hudson.

Lois was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church, where she worked as church secretary for many years. She was a member of 4H Allstars, Three Score Senior Club, and several bridge and card clubs.

She is survived by her daughter, Ann Marie Gonzales (Arthur) of Auburn, AL; son, William Earl Cox (Melinda “Lynn”) of Guyton, GA; grandchildren, Zachary, Jeremy, Aaron (Haruka), Jacob (Jessie), and Benjamin Gonzales, Jarod (Kiley), Ethan, Cohen, and Crista Cox; great-grandsons, Brantley, Braxton, Brycen, and Noah; sisters, Doris Cameron, Margaret Gualtiere (William), and Rebecca Sayre (Jeffrey, Sr.); brother, Richard Priest; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday July 6 from 10:00 AM until time of service at 12:00 Noon at Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, 380 Penco Road, Weirton, with Jeffrey Sayre, Jr. presiding. Interment will take place at New Cumberland Cemetery.
