(Maxine) June Hunter passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025. She was proceeded in death by her mother, Evelyn Cologne, her father, James Hunter, stepmother, Mae Hunter, and step brothers, Jerry and Ronald Burgoon.
She is survived by her daughter, Meghan Guz of Pennsylvania, her sister, Barbara Eddy of Oklahoma, stepsisters Susan Burge and Joyce Forrester of Weirton, as well as many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
She was a lifelong resident of Weirton and graduated from Weir High School Class of 1977.
June enjoyed reading, embroidery, listening to her 70s and 80s music. She enjoyed playing pool, collecting anything with hummingbirds, Bugs Bunny, and historical memorabilia. She was fascinated with the moon and stars and always wanted to go to the moon. She even received a star in the Heavens as a gift, which was very special to her. She was a beautiful soul and will be truly missed.
A memorial service will be held on March 30, 2025 at United Methodist Church at 3:30pm, 3598 Pennsylvania Ave Weirton WV 26062. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Weirton, WV.
