Naomi Ruth Gillert

NAOMI RUTH GILLERT, 87, of Weirton, WV, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at WVU Medicine, Weirton Medical Center.

Born January 4, 1938, in Littleton, WV, Ruth (as she was affectionately known) was the daughter of the late Arthur Webster Henderson and Pauline Mildred Burch Henderson. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Gillert (1998); and siblings Iris June Garrison, Floyd Henderson (late Ruth Ann), and Dale Sherwood Henderson (late Marilyn).

A proud graduate of Magnolia High School, Class of 1956, Ruth moved to Weirton after graduation, where she met and married the love of her life, Edward. Together they built a beautiful life and family. Though Weirton became their home, Ruth always cherished her country roots. She and her family often spent time at the family farm in Wetzel County, where they shared their love of nature and the value of hard work with their children and grandchildren.

Ruth was known for her incredible work ethic, meticulous housekeeping, and the pride she took in maintaining both her home and yard. Her house was always spotless, her lawn perfectly lined, and her appearance impeccable. Yet, above all, Ruth’s greatest joy came from caring for her family, friends, and neighbors. Time spent with her children and grandchildren always brought a smile to her face.

Ruth is survived by her loving children, Tina Marie Stoneking (Samuel), Sonya Lorraine Salatino (Rocco), Edward Benjamin Gillert (Ellen), and Jack Forrest Gillert; grandchildren, Joshua Samuel Stoneking, James Edward Gillert (Jessica), Michael William Gillert (Megan), Aaron Michael Salatino, and Jennifer Arenth (Keenan); great-grandchildren, Anthony, Sammy, and William; and siblings Daniel Henderson (Ruth Ann), Bonnie Sue Collins (late JB), Patricia Eileen Musgrave (Charlie), and Patrick Henderson (Jolene).

Family and friends will be received on Friday, November 14, from 10:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life at 12:00 Noon, at Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV, with Pastor Nadia Stropichofficiating. Interment will follow at St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton.

Ruth’s family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate doctors and staff of the Weirton Medical Center Emergency Department for their care and kindness.
