NATHANAEL W. “NATE” FOWLER, 44, of Weirton, WV passed away unexpectedly on Thursday August 31, 2023. Nate was born August 11, 1979 in Washington, PA, son of Duane Fowler, Sr. and the late Marge Fowler.
Nate was a truly wonderful person. In high school, he was a gifted athlete as a star football player and wrestler. His love for football grew through the years, especially for his beloved Raiders. Not the Las Vegas Raiders; the OAKLAND Raiders! He also enjoyed giving his Steeler friends a hard time when the Raiders played them.
Not only was he strong physically, he also was brilliant. He worked as a Senior IT Engineer at Fleuid but his true passion came from rebuilding computers. He loved playing video games and could fix anything electronic. He was often called upon by friends and family when electronics needed repair.
Nate was the best of both worlds; a gentle giant with an even bigger heart. The definition of a true friend, Nate would drop everything for anyone needing help. “Nate Dog” took care of his friends and was a loving “Uncle Nate” to their children. He was so much fun to be around and had the best smile!
Above all else, Nate’s world revolved around his loving wife, Jessica; and son, Alex. He was Jessica’s best friend, soulmate and always took care of her and Alex. Jessica knows he was the happiest and proudest to be dad to Alex. Nate was Alex’s hero. Alex wished nothing more than to grow up to be like his dad. He even dressed as him for Career Day at school.
Nate is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Jessica Wagner Fowler; his beloved son, Alex Fowler; his brothers, Duane Fowler, Jr. and Terry Fowler (Karen); his sister, April Chytil (Shad); stepmother, Loretta Fowler; and many amazing friends.
Visitation will take place Sunday September 3, 2023 from 4pm until time of service at 6pm at Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 380 Penco Road, Weirton with Rev. Dr. Christina Hosler presiding.
