Neil R. Phillips

NEIL R. PHILLIPS, 85 of Weirton, WV formerly of Paris, PA and Port Charlotte, FL passed away Monday March 28, 2016 at The Inn at Wyngate. He was born December 11, 1930 in Weirton, WV. He was the son of the late Edwin McKinley Phillips and Alta Mae Gatewood Phillips. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Jean Ashbridge Phillips(5-5-2015); sisters, Jean Jelski, Nancy Phillips Martin. Neil was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Weirton Lodge No.171 A.F. & A.M. He also served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Neil retired as a foreman in the coke plant fuel department of Weirton Steel Corp. Neil enjoyed farming, golfing, bicycling, and family gatherings. Especially the family trips to Hilton Head, SC and Myrtle Beach, SC. Surviving are his daughters, Pamela (Jim) Donohue of Burgettstown, PA, Janice (Denny) Krivak of Burgettstown, PA, Debarah (Mike) Maropis of Chicago, IL, Beverly (Joe) Manni of Burgettstown, PA; brother, Edward William "Bill" Phillips (Nancy) of Atlanta, GA. Grandchildren, Deanna (Joe) Sentipal, Jimmy (Jan-Lynn) Donohue, Jason (Marcie) Krivak, Torie Anne (Mike) Mazurek, Derek and Michal Jane Maropis and Ross and Abby Manni; great grandchildren Joey, Parker and Raya Sentipal, Jimmy and Jaxon Donohue, Aubry, Alec and Andrew Krivak and Mikey Mazurek. Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 30, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral/committal services at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Carol McKay presiding at STEEL & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV. Internment will be at Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Florence, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 3301 West Street, Weirton, WV 26062.
