Norma Jean Ashe, 84, formerly of the Jackson Center area, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at her daughter’s home in Weirton, surrounded by family.
Born in Proctor, West Virginia, Norma was the daughter of the late Okey and Frances (Howe) Yoho. On September 29, 1979, she married Joseph G. Ashe, Jr., and together they shared many cherished years until his passing on June 16, 2007.
Norma’s life was defined by faith, service, and quiet strength. A natural caregiver, she found purpose in loving and tending to the needs of others—always selfless, always steady. Her presence was soft, but her wisdom ran deep, offering comfort, clarity, and strength to those around her.
She is survived by her four children, each of whom carries a piece of her generous spirit:
• Kenneth Ashe and Michelle Zavolta
• Vonnie and Timothy Wells
• Pamela and Jim Mitchell
• Gerald McDiffitt and Wendy Johns
She was also blessed with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, each one a source of pride and joy.
Norma is also survived by her beloved sister, Betty Pysell.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Greenlawn Cemetery in Wapakoneta, Ohio.
Arrangements are under the direction of Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, Wapakoneta. Condolences may be shared at http://www.eleyfuneralhomeandcrematory.com.
