PAUL A. BENNETT, 94, of Hanover Twp., PA, passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. He was born March 4, 1930 in Penowa, PA, son of the late Robert Bennett (formerly Benito Batista) and Rose Lee Vandal Bennett. He is also preceded in death by his grandson, Zachary Bennett (2020); and siblings, Joe, Rose, Lucy, Mary and John.
Paul was a graduate of Avella High School. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Dinch, on May 29, 1954. Paul was the last living charter member of Hanover Volunteer Fire Department, Company 45, Washington County. He was a lifetime member of the Burgettstown Italian Club and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Burgettstown. He retired from J & L Steel (L.T.V. Steel) in Aliquippa after 32 years. Paul enjoyed Sunday dinners with family and spending time with his grandchildren. He always volunteered his time at HVFD for many activities including fish frys, Bingo, children’s Christmas parties and Easter Egg Hunts. He loved tinkering in his garage. A true Mr. Fix-It; if Paul couldn’t fix it, it couldn’t be fixed.
