PAUL E. PEPPER, 92, of Weirton, WV, passed Saturday, July 5, 2025 at Brightwood Center, Follansbee. He was born February 20, 1933 in Fairmont, WV, son of the late Brooks and Hazel Hornish Pepper. Paul is also preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Pepper (late Geraldine) and Franklin Pepper; and sister, Janet Sutton (late Ed).
Paul is a US Army Veteran who was stationed stateside to build and repair tanks during the Korean War. After his military service, Paul worked as a Welder for Weirton Steel Corporation. After retirement, Paul worked as a Walmart greeter for many years. Paul was a proud member of Mercy Baptist Church, where he often played the piano during services.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of over 70 years, Jaunda “Butch” McMullen Pepper; daughter, Wendy Cooper (Troy Fluharty); son, Randy Pepper (Carol); grandchildren, Jarrett, Megan, Brennan, and Ariel; 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; brother, Russell Pepper (late Mabel); and sister-in-law, Mary Lou Pepper.
Visitation will take place Friday, July 11, 2025 from 1:00pm until time of service at 3:00pm, at Mercy Baptist Church, 3474 Pennsylvania Avenue, Weirton, with Pastor Marlin Hawley presiding. Military honors will follow at the church, rendered by American Legion Post No. 10 Honor Guard. Interment will take place at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee. Arrangements have been entrusted to Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, Weirton.
