Raymond Chapman Obituary
RAYMOND C. CHAPMAN, 89 of Weirton, WV passed away Monday June 13, 2016 at home. He was born December 30, 1926 in Tyler County, WV. He was the son of the late Leslie and Faye Ankrom Chapman. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Madelene McKinney Chapman(5-23-96); sister, Lucille Craig.
Ray served our country in WWII in the US Army. He was a member of VFW Post No.2716, American Legion Post No.10, Patron Member of the NRA, 25 year club of Weirton Steel Company. He was always willing to help someone in need. He donated to many charities, including Wounded Warrior Project, American Red Cross, Salvation Army, FOP, and many others. He will be forever loved and missed. He retired with 45 years of employement at Weirton Steel Corp.
Surviving are his son, Ray Chapman (Cheryl) of Weirton, WV; step daughters, Sandy Truax, Cathy Magazzeni; grandchildren, Scott Chapman (Melodie) of Weirton, WV, Holly Chapman of CA; brothers, Herbert Chapman of Weirton, WV, James Chapman of Middlebourne, WV.
Visitation will be Friday June 17, 2016 10:00 a.m. until time of the military honors at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee, WV. Military honors will be rendered by the Weirton honor guard and the WV honor guard. Arrangements have been entrusted to STEEL & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., Weirton, WV.
