RICHARD JOHN “NICK” DENNIS, 81, of Paris, PA passed Saturday March 2, 2024, at home. He was born July 10, 1942, in Coraopolis, PA, son of the late Nicholas and Helen Klemovich Dennis. He is also preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years, Anna M. Geer Gurrera Dennis (2017); son, Kenny Gurrera; and sister, June Bortle.
Nick is survived by daughters, Pamela Jo Ritenour of VA, Lynda Lee Maddox of TX, Suzanne Carbon (Gary) of IL, and Rene Michele Wallace (Steve) of WV; son, Richard Dennis (Amy) of WV; nine grandchildren, Nicholas, Tara, Annie, Laura, Desiree, Rebekah, Natalia, Ella and Alex; and one great-granddaughter Katya.
After being discharged from the Air Force, Nick’s passion and love of cars led to his lifelong career as an auto and heavy truck mechanic. He was also a Pennsylvania Certified Vehicle Safety Inspector. Nick recently retired from Fox & James Leasing. Since then, he has enjoyed gardening, cutting his lawn, socializing at Kroger’s, taking care of the neighborhood cats, and keeping up with current events. “Papa Nick” will be missed but fondly remembered for his off the wall sense of humor.
Per Nick’s wishes, there will be no visitation at this time. A graveside memorial will take place at a later time. Nick will be laid to rest besides his wife, Anna, at the St. Paul Cemetery in Weirton, WV.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Weirton, WV.
