ROBERT I. “BOB” ANDERSON, 70, of Weirton, WV, passed away Sunday January 14, 2024 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born June 10, 1953 in Steubenville, OH, son of Leroy Anderson and the late June Smith Anderson. He is also preceded in death by his son, Robert Anderson, Jr.
Bob retired as a pump-house operator from Weirton Steel after 46 years. He also spent time working with the Weirton police reserves in the 1970’s. Bob was an avid golfer who was most proud with the accomplishment of having a hole in one during a Pro-am tournament in 2012. Even when Bob wasn’t working, he was never one to sit still for very long. He was an active member of Paris Sportsman Club where he liked to volunteer his time. Anyone who was fortunate enough to know Bob knows how kind hearted he was and always willing to help anyone, which often came with a side of sarcasm and humor.
In addition to his father, Bob is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Renee Wilkins Anderson; son Brandon Anderson (Naghma) of Weirton, beloved granddaughter Skylar; brothers Gary Anderson (Becky) of Weirton and Eric Anderson of Paris, PA, along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place Friday January 26 from 2:00 PM until time of service at 6:00 PM at Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, 380 Penco Road, Weirton, with Bishop Albert Mitchem presiding.
