Robert H. "Sonny" Buchanan

ROBERT H. "SONNY" BUCHANAN, 85 of Reynoldsburg, OH formerly of Weirton, WV passed away Thursday April 5, 2018 at home, after a long battle with leukemia. He was born March 7, 1933 in Hollidays Cove, WV. He was the son of the late John Sumner Buchanan and Alice Fay Davis Buchanan. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Judith Testaguzza; brother, John E. Buchanan.

Sonny was a longtime member of Cove Presbyterian Church; Moose Lodge No.688; 25 year club of Weirton Steel Company. He retired after 41 from the Tin Mill of Weirton Steel Corp. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed watching movies, golf, and the Steelers.

Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Juanita Burnside Buchanan; daughters, Linda Buchanan of Columbus, OH, Patricia DiAntonio of Pickerington, OH; sons, Robert Buchanan, Jr. (Robin) of Granger, IN, David Buchanan (Kim) of Sharpsburg, GA; grandchildren, Sarah, Shauna, Alicia, Austin, Jake, and Jenna; great grandson, Brady.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until time of the funeral/committal services at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday April 7, 2018 at STEEL & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV where Dr. J.E. Rudiger will preside. Interment will follow in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Florence, PA.
