Robert E. King, Sr.

Robert E. King Sr., 92, of Weirton, WV, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2023 at Weirton Medical Center. He was born on November 8, 1931 in Sistersville, WV to the late Clarence and Eunice King. He is also preceded in death by two sisters and one brother as well as a son, Robert King, Jr. 

A U.S. Army Veteran, Robert retired from Weirton Steel in the blast furnace with 37 years of service. He was also a member of the Weirton Steel 25 Year Club.

Robert is Protestant by faith and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Weirton.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Mary King, his daughter Karen Virden; granddaughter Chelsea (Kevan) LaPosta; grandsons Brian (Tracey) King, Justin (Tessa) King, and great-grandchildren Artemis LaPosta, Avery and Gianna King, and Kaylee King.

Per Robert's wishes, there will be no visitation and no funeral service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
