Robert R. Williams

ROBERT R. WILLIAMS, 92 of Weirton, WV passed away Friday July 28, 2017 at Valley Hospice, Steubenville, OH. He was born June 28, 1925 in Conway, PA. He was the son of the late Richard Harper Williams and Frances G. Cain Williams. Bob was also preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Mary Louise Lawrence Williams (2005); brother, Donald C. Williams (2016).

He was a member of Paris Presbyterian Church; a U.S Coast Guard veteran, WWII/USS Pride; American Legion Post No. 10 and VFW Post No.2716 where he served as Chaplain of both. He retired in 1983 from the fuel dept./steel works of National Steel Corp., Weirton division.

Surviving are his companion, Esther Young of Wellsburg, WV; daughters, M.Elaine Williams of Weirton, WV, Patricia Aileen Ferrell of Richmond, OH, Sharyn Elizabeth Jones (Brian) of Weirton, WV; sons, James Richard Williams (Enid) of Weirton, WV, Donald Lawrence Williams of Weirton, WV, Dr. Robert Franklin Williams (Karen) of Flower Mound, TX; 13 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother, Richard H. Williams, Jr. (Jackie) of Dayton, OH; sisters, Debbie Millar (Robert) of Canada, Barbara Balint (Gary) of Weirton, WV, Betty Jean Williams of Pittsburgh, PA.

Visitation will be Sunday July 30, 2017 1-3 & 6-8 p.m. at STEEL & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV. Additional visitation will be Monday from 10:00 until time of the funeral at 10:30 a.m. at Paris Presbyterian Church, 127 Steubenville Pike, Paris, PA with Reverend Dr. Christina Hosler presiding. Military honors will be rendered by American Legion Post No.10 and WV honor guard. Interment will follow at Harlem Springs Cemetery, Harlem Springs, OH.
