Ronald Hooker Obituary
RONALD L. HOOKER, 66 of New Cumberland, WV passed away Wednesday October 5, 2016 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. He was born January 23, 1950 in Glendale, WV. The son of the late William F. and Christina Swearingen Hooker. He was also preceded in death by brothers, William and Joe Hooker.
Ron served his country in the Vietnam War with the U.S. Army. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a lifetime member of the NRA, an avid hunter, outdoorsman, and one who enjoyed camping. He was also a member of the 25 year club of Weirton Steel Company. Ron retired as a welder in the welding shop of Weirton Steel Corp.
Surviving are his wife of nearly 48 years, Nancy Northcraft Hooker; daughter, Brenda Wilhelm of Wheeling, WV; son, Ronald L. Hooker, II (Kayla) of New Cumberland, WV; grandchildren, Andrew and Marie Wilhelm, Rileigh, Ethan, and Paige Hooker, Mason Congo; sisters, Stella Carothers of New Cumberland, WV, Ila Sue Hanlon (James) of Weirton, WV; brother, James Hooker (Rose) of New Cumberland, WV.
Visitation will be Friday October 7, 2016 4:00-8:00 p.m. at STEEL & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV where the funeral/committal services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m., Reverend Harry Knight officiating. Interment will follow at Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Florence, PA.
