Sara Ellen (Cox) Swiger, 67, passed away on July 20, 2026 at the Weirton Geriatric Center.
Sara was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul Swiger, and her grandson, Kris Swiger.
She is lovingly remembered by her stepchildren, Wesley (Heather) Swiger and Gwen Fuccy; her grandchildren, Wesley “Wooz” (Tina) Swiger, Kendrick (Yasmeen) Swiger, Halli Swiger, Samantha (Anthony) Veltri, and Cody Tate; three great-grandchildren, with a fourth expected soon; along with many extended family members and dear friends.
Sara proudly worked at Eat’n Park for 20 years, where she was known as the “cookie lady”. She was also a faithful member of the Weirton Heights Church of Christ and a die hard Cleveland Browns fans.
For the past several years Sara was cared for by the wonderful caregivers in the Enchanted Gardens section of the Weirton Geriatric Center and most recently, by Valley Hospice. The family is grateful for the patient care of those who attended to her.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 27 from 10:00am until the funeral service at 12:00pm, at Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, 380 Penco Road, Weirton, with Elder Mark Zopp presiding. Interment will follow with her beloved Paul at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee.
