SHAWN FISHER, 71, of New Cumberland, WV, formerly of Hookstown, PA, passed into the arms of Jesus at Weirton Medical Center on December 9, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on June 3, 1954, Shawn was the son of Ralph and Hazel (Wilson) Fisher. Shawn retired in 2020 from Nova Chemicals, where he worked as a board operator. He was previously employed by LTV Corp. as a crane director and co-authored a handbook on quality control through tracking of beveled pipe. He also was certified through Jeff Zell Institute in ACI, Radiation Safety and NICET Level 1. Shawn loved playing with his Collies and spoiling his grandchildren. He was married for 53 years to the love of his life, Kathleen (O’Connell).
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Brendan (Kimberly) Fisher; two daughters, Megan (Guy) Haskins and Sharon (Jonathan) England; Four granddaughters, LeighAnn (Coy) Mullins, Maura Haskins, Sarah (Landon) Tomazich, and Lydia Haskins; Four grandsons, Ethan England, Connor Haskins, James England, and Simon England; a step grandson, G. Christopher (Theresa) Yoho; a great granddaughter, Amira Sage Mullins; and siblings, Orin Fisher, Kenneth (Margaret) Fisher, Janine (Dan) Young, and Clayton (Elisabeth) Fisher.
Friends can visit on Friday, December 12, from 2:00 to 4:00 and from 6:00 to 8:00, at Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV, where the service will take place Saturday at 11:00 with Rev. Nathan Troyer presiding. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery, Florence, PA.
