SHERRI L. KRUTILLA, 80, of Weirton, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Trinity West Medical Center in Steubenville, Ohio. Sherri had a brave 3-year long battle with cancer which never broke her spirit. She lived life to the fullest and stayed strong until the end. Born on July 9, 1945, in East Liverpool, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Julia (Scraggs) Kays.
In addition to her parents, Sherri was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Kenneth W. Krutilla, who passed in 2019; her brother, Robert “Bob” Kays; and her sister, Shirley Miller.
Sherri shared many meaningful years with her husband as members of the Weirton Jaycees. She found joy in tending her plants, caring for her ponds, and creating beautiful crafts. An avid baker, she was known for her delicious cookies, and she also enjoyed shopping and spending time with family. Sherri was a faithful attendee of the Promise of Victory Church of God. Even through her battle with cancer, Sherri’s love and strength was shining every day until her peaceful passing. She will be truly missed.
She is lovingly remembered by her son, Kenneth N. Krutilla (Sharon); her cherished grandchildren, Apryl, Gabby, Nicky, and Faith; her treasured great-grandchildren, Blaze, Landyn, Janson, Kobe, Eleanor, Greyson, Gavin, and Annie; and her brother, John Kays (Barbara).
Honoring Sherri’s wishes, no visitation will be held. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Weirton, West Virginia.
