Sylvia Ann Resnik

Sylvia Ann Resnik passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on May 18, 2025. Sylvia was born on July 25, 1941 to Chester and Francis Ralston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Resnik, daughter, Dianna Orsini, brother, Charles (Jennie) Ralston, and son-in-law, Ken Russell.

Sylvia leaves behind and will be remembered with love by her daughters, Lori (Blake) Hawthorne, Cindy (Gary) Bartram, Linda (Ernie) Liedtke, and her son-in-law, Tony (Jodi) Orsini.

Sylvia was the very proud grandmother of Justin (Karoline) Tuell, Kara Bartram, Jacob (Danesha) Russell, Bryan (Grace) Bartram, Kristen Tuell, Erin (Eric) Piatt, Sean Orsini, Ethan Manley, Brooke Hawthorne, Faith Orsini, Bryce Manley, and great-grandmother to Coreé and Noah. And she was looking forward to her great-granddaughter and namesake, Sylvia, to be born this fall.

Sylvia will be missed by her sister-in-law, Jennie Ralston, her friend, John Good, her beloved cat, Taffy, her Church family, card club friends, and her friends at the classmate lunches.

Sylvia was truly the matriarch of the family, a pillar of strength to her family, and her greatest joy came from her family, especially when spending time with her grandchildren. Everyone learned so much from her. She spent her entire life at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church that her grandparents and parents helped build and flourish, and where she was the pianist for 45 years.

Per Sylvia’s wishes, there will be no visitation, with a private inurnment next to her husband Larry at Bethel Cemetery in Washington County, PA, at the convenience of the family. Those wishing to honor her memory are invited to make memorial gifts to Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, 101 Lisa Court, Weirton. Arrangements have been entrusted to Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Weirton.
