Terry J. Wood

TERRY J. WOOD, 72, of Weirton, WV, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, November 4, 2024. She was born October 13, 1952 in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Ethlyn Darras Dellaria and Charles Boles.

Terry was Presbyterian by faith. She worked for many years as a Teacher and Caregiver for Healthways. She loved spending time with her family, traveling with her mother to multiple countries, going on adventures with her sister Jody, sewing, crafting and quilting. She also loved tending to her numerous plants, which seemed to multiply daily. Anywhere Terry went, her presence was known. She greeted everyone with a big “Hello!” and a loving hug. She was a wonderful, kind, caring woman to all who knew her. Even a long, hard-fought battle with cancer couldn’t change her loving attitude. After battling this past year, Terry was blessed to pass at home, surrounded by her loving family, and beautiful plants.

Terry is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Cecil Wood; daughter, Stephanie Svokas; sons, Nick Svokas and Zachary Wood; grandson, Gage Svokas; sister, Jody Dellaria; and brothers, Jon Dellaria (Benedicte) and Charles Boles (Cindi).

Visitation will take place Friday, November 8, from 11:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM, at Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, 380 Penco Road, Weirton, with Minister Tom Derby presiding.
