VIOLA "PENNY" MOURAT passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Wheeling, WV. She was born May 28, 1928 near Orange, Virginia. The daughter of the late Irvin Arnett and Lelia Fickling. She is preceded in death by her husband Nickolas Mourat, brother David Arnett, sisters Rebecca Limparis and Ellen May and cousin Pamela Makricosta.
She is survived by her daughter Anise Kiger (Terry) and son John Mourat (Lisa); her grandchildren Amanda Kerns (Pat), James Kiger, Elisabeth Kiger, Noah Mourat, Lukas Mourat, and by her great grandchildren Wiley Kerns and Autumn Kerns.
Penny was a long time member of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church where she was a member of the Philoptochos Society & Greek Senior Citizens for many years. She also attended Cove United Presbyterian Church where she held various offices in The Myrtle McHendry Class and The Women's Association. She was a member of WV 4-H All-Stars, a former leader of the Wide Awake 4-H club, 4-H Leaders Association and long time volunteer nurse at summer 4-H camps. Penny worked as a Registered Nurse at the Weirton Geriatric Center where she retired after 45 years.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 7, from 10:00 am until time of services at 11:00 am at the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church. Private burial will follow in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery.
